The lowlands of the Attawapiskat River are the largest pristine wetland on earth and an important resource for the Mushkegowuk Cree community. They are also the site of De Beers Canada’s first Ontario diamond mining project. Filmed over five years, the film connects stories of First Nations voices, community poverty, environmental impact, human rights and the agendas of the mining industry and the government.
